During the winter of 2022/2023 we had a beautiful fox living under our wood shed. He was always a welcome sight with his glorious rusty colours against the neutral snowy landscape. It was always a treat to my eyes when ever he made an appearance and I wanted to capture the joy of discovering him in a painting. So when Centre 64 gave artists a specific red paint they had to use for the art around town project, I knew he'd be a perfect subject. By the time I started this painting, spring had arrived and the bears were waking up, I hadn't seen them yet, but I knew they were starting to roam the forest, and who doesn't love searching for bears?! So they are well hidden among the landscape in this piece.
The original acrylic painting was created for the Art Around Town Project in collaboration with Centre 64, Kimberley Arts Council, in May 2023, with the idea of increasing more public art in the community. Unfortunately, the minimum bid was not met at the event, but the original sold at a later date to a private collector, who wished to display the art indoors.
All prices are for rolled canvases. I offer canvas stretching/mounting for those who are able to pick up locally. Please contact me at the time of ordering to arrange this.
Stretching is an additional 15% of the print price, to be paid separately.
