Nanook of the North
Nanook of the North was originally commissioned for a family in Cranbrook, BC. The commissioner had seen a silent, black and white movie capturing Inuit life in the early 1900's. It was the first ever documentary of it's kind and is absolutely fascinating to watch, I believe you can still find it on YouTube. This painting is but a small part of what that movie portrays.
